Storage Direct Kingsburg Sponsors the 46th Annual Snow Poker Run in Sierra National Forest
On a crisp and chilly morning, 125 registered 4WD vehicles gathered at the scenic Hume Lake Campground for the highly anticipated 46th Annual Snow Poker Run, an off-roading event that brought together both experienced drivers and off-road enthusiasts for a day of fun, friendly competition, and community spirit.
Held 6,000 feet up in the Sierra National Forest, the event kicked off early with the first vehicle starting at around 8:00 a.m. and the last one returning to camp by around noon. The base camp at Hume Lake was bustling with activity, where participants received their numbered packets filled with event rules, raffle tickets, and a poker hand. Drivers could also purchase additional raffle tickets and poker hands for $5 each, making the event an exciting opportunity for all involved to increase their chances of winning fantastic prizes.
Free hot dogs, chili, and hot cocoa were offered to attendees, ensuring everyone stayed warm and fueled for the day’s adventure. The event was well-organized, with raffle items generously donated by sponsors and local businesses, providing prizes ranging from outdoor gear to exciting larger items like a BBQ smoker and winches.
As part of the event’s excitement, prizes were awarded for the best poker hands, with the first-place winner walking away with a $500 prize, second place earning $200, and third place receiving $100. Over fifty bags filled with donations were raffled off to eager attendees, with exciting prizes.
The Snow Poker Run also celebrated the diversity of its participants, awarding prizes to the oldest attendee who is an 80-year-old man, the youngest attendee , a 6-month-old baby girl, and the person who traveled the farthest from Georgia, among others.Throughout the day, the event organizers frequently took a moment to acknowledge sponsors, with Storage Direct Kingsburg proudly included among them.
