Jim Field

Mr. Field was born and raised in Orinda, California, a small community in San Francisco’s East Bay area. He attended Miramonte High school and the University of Oregon in Eugene where he majored in business finance and management. In 1981, he began his real estate career as an industrial commercial broker in Oakland, CA with Ashwell-Burke. In 1983, Mr. Field joined CPS Commercial Real Estate in Pleasanton, CA establishing the marketing program for Hacienda Business Park, eventually becoming a partner in both the development and brokerage entities of the company. In 1988, Mr. Field purchased the company and became President and Managing Director, expanding offices throughout Northern California. CPS eventually became Colliers International and merged with J.R. Parrish Commercial Real Estate of San Jose. The company thrives today with offices throughout California and Nevada employing over 300 people.

In 1993, Mr. Field transitioned to the development of commercial real estate focusing on self-storage and industrial properties. At that time, he met Mr. Steve Mirabito, his current partner, and they established StoragePro. Currently Storage Pro owns and manages approximately 40 facilities throughout Northern California. Their main office is located in Walnut Creek, CA.

StoragePro is a development, property management and asset management company. The company is structured to acquire properties for the purpose of constructing self-storage facilities and delivering the highest level of property management in the market. Mr. Field’s focus is on site acquisition and finance while Mr. Mirabito’s focus is project entitlements, construction and property management. Recent development projects include San Jose (110,000 sf), Napa (67,000 sf) and Santa Rosa (90,000 sf).

Recognizing the significant industry changes, StoragePro made the decision to become members of Storelocal. With the scale Storelocal brings, StoragePro will be able to reduce technology cost, confront new online competition, have better search results and provide a seamless customer experience.

Mr. Field has served on numerous boards including NAIOP, Boy Scouts of America, Storelocal and The Education Foundation. He is involved in numerous charities including The Free Wheelchair Mission, Hunger Coalition, Higher Ground, Northrise University and Mapalo Orphanage both in Zambia, Africa.
